Small Group Apprentice
(Connection Small Group)
Description
The Small Group Apprentice will
learn how to shepherd a small group from the Small Group Leader. The Apprentice will do this by taking on more
and more responsibility for leading the small group over time. The Apprentice
is not a co-leader but instead a leader-in-training with the purpose of
eventually leading his or her own small group.

Role
· Follow the guidance of the Small Group Leader in
learning how to lead the small group
· Be willing to take on more and more responsibility for
the functions of the group over time
· Be purposeful in learning so that one day he or she
will lead their own group (not just co-lead a group with the leader)

Requirements
· Be willing to serve one year while t
· Be willing to be mentored by his or her Small Group
Leader
· Be willing to grow by pursuing small group training as
applicable for his/her situation
· Pursue completing a membership class, Leadership
application, and growth plan as applicable
Time Commitment
· 2 hours/meeting – Help facilitate, attend, and
participate in group meetings as asked by Leader
· 2 hours/week – Prepare for, contact, pray for, and
work with members as schedule permits and Leader requests
· 2 hours/month – Meet for church-wide, departmental, or
Leader mentoring/training when able
