for Your Small Group to Serve!
Special Projects - Senior Pastor Sunday
Morning Initiative (return to top)
Video
Café Service Project
Do you
worship already at the 11am service? If so, here is a simple, but important, way
you can “serve others as you worship”. How you ask? If you were
willing to worship in the Video Café each week, you would provide a consistent
“worshiper presence” in the room. This may seem like a small thing, but
often people look into the Great Room and think it looks “empty” so they don’t
feel comfortable going in. They then go to the
Do you see
how making this simple commitment can serve others? If you do this, you
can make a difference between someone worshiping God this Sunday or not!
That’s important! To serve in this way, all you have to do is….
You just
being present will help draw others into the room and make them feel
welcomed.
If you
and/or members of your small group are willing to make this commitment, just
contact e-mail David
Howell or call him at 981-9222 and let him know. I know God
will use you and your small group to serve others in this simple but very
important way!
P.S. Our Senior Pastor Chuck Milian is praying for
5 small groups to make this
commitment. Will you join him?

Support
our Special Needs Ministry (~90 minute commitment / monthly)
Are you willing to serve our special needs children and
their families at Crossroads? Contact
Steve Strom at 488.2326 or stevestr@aol.com
to inquiry about the following three service opportunities:
STAR
Room - Elementary & Teens
We offer Special Time
Activity Rooms (STAR) at 11am for our Special Needs children. Volunteers are needed to greet parents,
assist the teacher, and to do one-on-one activities with the special needs
students. Previous work with special
needs children is not required. All
orientation and necessary training is provided.
Shadows
– Sunday 9:15 AM, Sunday 11:00 AM, or Wednesday 6:30pm
Several children with
special needs attend the regular Sunday School classes on Sunday mornings or
attend AWANA on Wednesday night. The
participation of the student is enhanced with a one-on-one assistant in big
group events, small group discussions, and interacting with typical students in
the classes. Previous work with special
needs students is not required. All
orientation and necessary training is provided.
Volunteer
Coordinator
Helping to recruit
and staff volunteers for the Abilities Enabled Ministry is a vital part of
“making it all work”. If you are a big picture
kind of person who enjoys organizing, talking with people, sharing the vision
of this ministry, and helping others, Abilities Enabled wants you! This person would work with each of the AE
coaches to learn about volunteer needs and would then disseminate the
information to recruit volunteers for the ministry. This would be done through formal and
informal communication channels at Crossroads Fellowship as well as with
external volunteer groups who earn service credit for their volunteer
time.
Immediate Off-campus Service Projects (return to top)
Can you provide snacks for a school class Good News Club
meeting? That’s all that is required for
this simple project. But what a
difference you could make! Crossroads has the opportunity to share The
Good News of Jesus with 30 children from

Sunday
Morning Helpers (Infant through Elementary) – Service Project 1 (~90 minute commitment)
We are so blessed to have committed volunteers teaching our
children about God’s Word every week.
Won’t you bless our leaders and children by coming to assist with small
group time? We are looking for small
groups to help every week. Simply sign
up and show up! Contact Jim Shelton at JShelton@Crossroads.org
or 981-0222 to sign-up for your small group to help.
Sunday
Greeting - Service Project 2 (~30 minute commitment)
This is a simple, but valuable, service project option for
your group. Here is how it works. Contact
AWANA
Kid’s Bible Club Listeners – Service Project 3 (~120 minute commitment)
Our children are learning Bible verses every Wednesday night
at Crossroads in their AWANA classes.
Would you be willing to simply sit and listen to the children recite
their Bible verses one night? All you’d
have to do is sit down one-on-one with the kids and have them quote their Bible
verses as you review their workbook which has the Bible verses written
out. You can encourage them greatly by
helping them practice in this way. You
might even learn a new Bible verse yourself!
Contact Jim Shelton at JShelton@Crossroads.org
or 981-0222 to sign-up for a night to listen.
Missions
Yard Sale Support - Service Project 4 (~90 minute commitment)
Come and help our short term mission’s teams with the yard
sale! The proceeds from the yard sale
will be used to fund mission trips for our short term mission’s teams. These short term mission’s teams include
people that are going to help with construction projects and to share the
gospel in places both locally and oversees. Your small group can help these
teams by lending your service and doing such things as sorting, placing, and
pricing yard sale items. Contact Lynn
Brieaddy at lbrieaddy@nc.rr.com or
453-1017 to sign your group up for a time slot to help with clothes preparation
or Willis Morgan at mwlol@doc.state.nc.us
or 873-0470 to work with general merchandise.
