Crossroads First Serve Opportunities
Adult Ministries – Contact
1. Class Secretary – perform administrative duties for Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights
classes.
2. Ministry Services Volunteers - provide administrative support to church office staff
during the week by placing labels on mailings, making copies, phone calling,
etc.
3. Ministry Setup/Breakdown Volunteers – Assist with setting up and breakdown rooms for various
on-going weekly events as well as one-time special events. Typical time commitments would be “2 hour
work slots” in the evenings from
Administration – Contact
1.
Wed. night dinners - need food prep,
servers, and clean up staff members. Hours vary depending on duties.
2. Volunteer Set up/Breakdown - set up and breakdown tables and chairs
in advance and following meetings.
Help needed throughout the week at various times.
Assimilation Ministry – Contact Kmeadows (Kmeadows@Crossroads.org)
1. Greeters
– people with a warm
smile, firm handshake and a genuine love for others to provide warm greeting
and sense of belonging to each individual entering the building on Sunday
mornings.
2. Invitation Counselors – people
who desire to minister to people who have opened their hearts to God’s word and
the Holy Spirit.
3. Coffee
Ministry –
people who enjoy meeting and serving others to help set up, serve and breakdown
coffee bars on Sunday mornings.
4. Ushers – people who enjoy people and have a servant’s heart
to provide worshippers with a warm greeting, bulletin, help in finding a seat
and to assist in taking the offering and serving communion at any of the Sunday
morning or night services.

Children’s Ministry – Contact

2. Stage Appearances - in Studio I as a character that helps get the Bible story across.
3. Small Group Leader – either hour on Sunday mornings in elementary classes (you pick any
grade).
4. Sunday School Greeter - Greet kids and take attendance
(you can pick any grade).
5. Nursery -
Hold babies or follow waddlers around in the Growing
Station.
6. Teacher’s Assistant - in preschool.
7. Children’s Ministry Management Team - join a weekly children’s ministry meeting to assist
in ministry management (cutting Sunday School crafts,
making copies, etc.)

9. AWANA Music Leader – lead children in 5-20 minutes of song any Wednesday night. Sound equipment and PowerPoint (for lyrics)
available.
10. AWANA Special Events - help to scoop ice cream or pass out treats on Wednesday nights
11. AWANA Teaching
- Give 5-15 minute Biblically based lesson to large group of 30-45
children. Can be an object lesson, Bible
story with application, or testimony.
Indicate week available – do not have to serve every week.
12. AWANA Shepherd
- Guide small groups of 5-7 children (either preschool, Kndg-2nd grade, or
3rd-5th grade). Listen to children
recite the verses they have memorized and engage in personal conversation to be
sure they comprehend. No preparation
required, but very rewarding. Adults choose age group they most enjoy. Attendance most weeks is important for
building relationships with children.
13. AWANA Games
- Facilitate pre-planned games for different age groups. Games already are organized, just need
"ringmaster-referee" figure to explain rules and start/stop
heats. Very active, fast-paced
activities but with firm crowd-controls in place. FUN!
14. AWANA Greeter
- Staff AC desk for 20 minutes each week on Wednesdays to be sure newcomers are
greeted, registered, and directed to proper classroom.
15. AWANA Craft Planner - Organize supplies for preschool craft.
Missions –
1. Yard sale Workers – help set up for yard sale events, pick up donations and/or clean up
after sales.
2. Short-term teams – join a short-term mission’s team and use your construction,
music, drama or public speaking skills as you minister in other countries.
Prayer Ministry –
1. Clerical Support Person – Make copies for Tuesday night and Wednesday morning
church-wide prayer requests and prayer group.
2. Prayer Request Entry Person - Enter prayer requests online by every Tuesday morning.
3. Prayer Room and Resources Coordinator- Ensure resources are available or up-to-date in the
prayer room, on the prayer resource table, etc.
4. Prayer Intercessors- Sign up for weekly prayer hour using online prayer requests. Can use
Prayer Room if desired or at home.
Singles Ministry –
1. Greeters -
for Singles Sunday School Classes on Sunday mornings
2. Singles Visitor Follow-up – 2 guys and 2 gals who can help visitors complete a guest
card and using a copy of the card, call or email 1st and 2nd
time guests to our classes.
3. Singles Socials Team – people to help plan, promote and participate in monthly socials for
singles
4. Singles Small Group Host - open your home on a weekly basis to provide a warm,
friendly and welcoming environment for 8-10 small group participants.
5. Singles Resources Researcher – People needed who can track down a listing of Christian
curriculum, magazines, websites and other resources for singles and single
parents.
Students –
1. Youth
Event Assistant or Small Group Facilitator – lead group discussions, help
students get signed in, greet guests. Commit 2x a month or weekly. Contact Andy for High School. Contact Brent for Middle School.
Worship Ministry –
1.
Praise Band - The Praise Band consists of all the
musicians that play instruments on Sunday morning & evening services and
special events. Members of the Praise
Band are scheduled monthly and only the people scheduled for the upcoming week
need to attend rehearsal.
2.
Praise Singers - The Praise Singers consists of all
the singers on Sunday morning & evening services and special events. Members of the Praise Singers are scheduled
monthly and only the people scheduled for the upcoming week need to attend
rehearsal.
3.
Drama Team - Perform on Sunday mornings and at
special events. Team may perform drama
that delivers a message or illustrates a corresponding sermon theme. The Drama Team involves acting, creative
writing, set design & construction and directing.
4.
Dance Team - Perform on Sunday mornings and at
special events. Team may perform dances that correspond with a particular sermon, or event or as a part of the worship music. The ministry also reaches outside of the
doors of Crossroads and dances at other churches and city & cultural
events.
5.
Tech Team – Responsible for behind-the-scenes
action of all services, Sunday morning & evening services and special
events. The Tech Teams are scheduled monthly and only the members scheduled for
the upcoming Sunday need to attend rehearsal.
6.
Camera Operator - Responsible for running camera
during Sunday Morning worship services.
No Experience is required. Serve
on a rotating basis.
